A school bus and a car collide in Upper Palatinate. Five people, including two students, are injured in the accident.

Accident between car and school bus in Bavaria: Five injured in crash near Leonberg

In Upper Palatinate, there was an accident between a school bus and a car in which, according to police, five people were slightly injured, including two students on the bus. The bus was traveling on federal highway 15 near Leonberg (Tirschenreuth district) when a 44-year-old woman turned onto the road in her car and cut off the bus' right of way, police said.

In another accident in Upper Palatinate, several people were injured. The crash was caused by a 33-year-old's driving error.

School bus accident in Upper Palatinate: Five injured in collision between bus and car

The collision left the bus driver, two students on the bus and a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl in the car slightly injured. The students, who were between 11 and 15 years old, were transported to their schools in a replacement bus after the accident.

Fire brigade, police and ambulance in action: school bus accident near Leonberg in Upper Palatinate

Not only the police, but also two fire brigades and four ambulances were deployed. The 44-year-old driver is now being investigated for negligent bodily harm, said a police spokesman. (kam/dpa)
