Over 293,000 internship offers sent out for Grades 1 and 8 in Gauteng

By Thursday morning, the ministry said it had made over 140,000 offers to parents for first and eighth grades.

So far, parents have accepted over 148,000 offers, and about 105,000 offers still need to be accepted.

Steve Mabona of the department says once an SMS confirms a child's placement at a particular school, no further action is required from parents as the child is deemed to be assigned to that school.

“By accepting these offers, the child remains in the placement process while waiting for further offers.

“Place offers will be issued on an ongoing basis until all students are placed. Parents who do not receive an SMS immediately do not need to panic, but can log into the system and check whether they have offers or not.”
