Is the RTL show “TV total” with Sebastian Pufpaff a success?

Stefan Raab's new show runs at the same time as his successor “TV total” – and has parallels. For many fans, Sebastian Pufpaff's future is sealed.

Last Saturday, Stefan Raab celebrated a brilliant comeback after almost ten years of absence from TV. On RTL, he lost in the boxing ring to former world champion Regina Halmich – but his next opponent could threaten a knockout. Shortly after the live event, there was a challenge to ProSieben: Raab's new weekly show will run parallel to “TV total” with Sebastian Pufpaff.

On the short message service X, which normally has a lot of critics, the praise for Raab was overwhelming. “I watched for half an hour and to be honest: Stefan Raab is the god of German entertainment. It's so good! We missed him so much,” raved one user. “Raab is my hero. I never thought that this resurrection would make me so happy,” agreed another.

“It's brilliant. Raab is in top form,” “The subscription was so worth it,” “I'm completely thrilled,” and “It's as if he'd never been away. Simply an unbelievably good show host and a very entertaining show,” are other comments of this kind. Negative comments, however, are hard to find. A few users speak of a “copy” and “old jokes” due to the striking parallels to “TV total.”

Most people see the exact opposite as positive. “Beginning is one to one like 'TV total'. Except that the nipple board is now the meme board and can be controlled by cell phone. I love it”, “It feels like a journey through time, like coming home”, “TV total” but without advertising, that was my biggest dream as a teenager”, “Is it innovative? No, absolutely!” reads X.

Many viewers are demanding that RTL bring “You won’t win the million here” to linear TV – and watch “TV total” before the end. “Pufpaff can go, nobody needs him anymore”, “The first ten minutes were better than anything I’ve seen on ProSieben recently” or “The original is just the original, Pufpaff can’t compare to it”, say the users.
