Police search for suspects after shooting call leads to accident

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri (KCTV) – Police officers in Independence are searching for the occupants of a suspicious vehicle that was observed leaving the area where a shooting occurred at a high rate of speed before colliding with two other vehicles.

Independence Police said officers were dispatched to the area of ​​45th and Grace Avenue in response to shots fired. When police officers arrived, a vehicle was observed leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Police said they attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued west on I-70. The suspect vehicle was eventually involved in a crash with two other vehicles.

According to IPD, officers were still on scene and were attempting to locate the occupants of the fleeing vehicle.
