Charges filed for negligent homicide in DUI operation in Brooke County | News, Sports, Jobs


FOLLANSBEE – A Steubenville man has been charged with driving under the influence causing death following a May 3 crash in which his vehicle struck a utility pole, resulting in the death of his passenger.

The charges were filed against Chad Allen Keyser, 35, of 3305 Sunset Blvd., whose case is pending in Brooke County Magistrate Court.

According to court documents, Follansbee police were called after Keyser's vehicle crashed into a traffic light pole on State Route 2 near Walgreen's. Keyser's passenger, Christine Michelle Shannon, was lying on the ground nearby.

According to police, Shannon suffered blunt force injuries to her head and other areas and was taken to Weirton Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

They reported that a blood test on Keyser found traces of cocaine, fentanyl and norfentanyl.
