Pacer Hasan Mahmud took all three Indian wickets while captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kolhi were dismissed in the opening session after being sent in to bat by the visitors on a lively Chepauk pitch.

India have chosen fast bowler Akash Deep as their third option seam bowler as Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first in the opening match of the Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
