Kolkata junior doctors protest live: Officials refused to meet our demands, say junior doctors

The junior doctors of the West Bengal Junior Doctors Front on Thursday said that after a meeting with chief secretary Manoj Pant in Nabanna on Wednesday evening, the officials rejected all their demands. “During the meeting, the chief secretary seemed ready to accept our demands but after that they were rebuffed as the officials did not give priority to our concerns. There were issues that were not raised and they asked us to enquire through email. What is the point of writing an email after a meeting? Our demands were not met and they even refused to give any written assurances. We have submitted our demands and our protest will continue as we are unhappy with the outcome of the meeting,” a junior doctor said after the meeting.
