Kennedy Stith was arrested for the death of 32-year-old Edevion White on September 12 and charged with murder by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office.

Authorities allege Stith fatally stabbed White in the chest around 10:30 a.m. on May 1, 2023. It was originally believed that two men wearing ski masks were responsible for White's death during a botched robbery at the apartment on the corner of Owens and Rosewood Drive.

On Friday, however, Pleasanton police announced they had arrested Stith on suspicion of murder, accusing her of fabricating a story of a drug-related burglary and stabbing White herself.

Pleasanton police said in reports that Stith was “manipulative, abusive and controlling” and forced the 32-year-old to sell drugs such as mushrooms and marijuana to pay his bills.
