Man accused of stabbing another man in Marion, Illinois.

MARION, Ill. (KFVS) – A man is accused of stabbing another man to death Tuesday evening, September 17th.

69-year-old Leroy Lambert was arrested for aggravated assault.

He is being held in the Williamson County Jail.

According to a Marion Police press release, a 911 call came in around 5:45 p.m. reporting a fight and possible stabbing in a business parking lot in the area of ​​900 West Main Street.

When police arrived at the scene, they reportedly found two men lying on the ground. One of them was lying on top of the other and making a slashing motion with his knife toward the other man's upper body.

One of the responding officers deployed his stun gun.

The suspect, later identified as Lambert, was arrested without further incident.

Officers attempted to rescue the victim until emergency responders arrived. They say the victim was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
