Pike Co. hosts car seat testing event

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) – The Pike County Health Department and the Pikeville Fire Department are hosting a child seat inspection event on September 19, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at the Walmart in Pikeville.

The event is part of Child Passenger Safety Week.

State-certified technicians are on-site to assist you with the following:

• Make sure car seats are safe and secure
• Answer questions about transitioning between car seats, booster seats and seat belts
• Make recommendations on the car seats that are best suited for your car and your child

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, children are typically required to ride in a child safety seat until they are 10 to 12 years old.
