Boy hit by mini-truck: Tragic accident: 7-year-old boy hit by mini-truck in Delhi | Delhi News

New Delhi: A seven-year-old boy died after being hit by a Mini truck in the northwest of Delhi The Ashok Vihar is a historic building in the Ashok Vihar district of Delhi.The police have arrested the driver of the vehicle.
Some CCTV cameras captured the incident and showed the vehicle's tyres running over the child's chest, a heartbreaking sight that has sparked outrage among locals. The child's family, who had recently moved to Delhi from Bihar in search of a better life, were devastated by the tragedy. The boy lived with his family in Ashok Vihar.
Police said that at around 12:40 pm on Monday, police received a PCR call that a child had been run over by a pickup truck in the area. It was found that the child was taken to a hospital in Shalimar Bagh where doctors declared him dead.
Police said the driver tried to flee the scene but was arrested a short distance away. He was identified as Neeraj.
Local residents alleged that the 80-foot-wide road had been narrowed by encroachments, including factories, parked vehicles and makeshift shops. Despite repeated complaints to the police, administration and MCD, the problem was not addressed, leading to the boy's death, they claimed.
In March, a six-year-old boy, who was riding pillion, died in a road accident when an SUV collided with his motorcycle in New Usmanpur in northeast Delhi. In May, a 13-year-old girl died and eight of her family members were injured, some of them seriously, when their van overturned and veered off the Delhi-Meerut Expressway after being hit by a speeding car.
In November last year, a 32-year-old businessman and his two children, including an 8-month-old son, died while his wife sustained injuries when their scooter was hit by a car in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden area.
