Manhasset doctor Amir Sitafalwalla charged with sexually abusing a man at ModernMD in Queens

A Manhasset doctor was arrested last week after a 21-year-old man said he was sexually assaulted at an emergency clinic in Queens.

According to online court and police documents, the man reported to the NYPD on August 14 that he had been sexually assaulted by Dr. Amir Sitafalwalla at ModernMD at 89-22 Jamaica Ave. in Woodhaven.

Kyle Watters, Sitafalwalla's attorney, said the alleged victim said Sitafalwalla was his doctor.

On September 9, Sitafalwalla, 72, was arrested and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and forcible touching of intimate body parts, police said.

According to online court documents, Watters said his client did not commit the crime and pleaded not guilty.

He confirmed that Sitafalwalla is a physician employed by ModernMD and declined to comment further.

Sitafalwalla is due to appear in court again on November 13.

ModernMD did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
