No one was injured after dozens of shots were fired on Missouri Avenue.

When shots were fired on Missouri Avenue in the middle of the night early Wednesday morning, no one was injured, police said.

Neighbors reported hearing the shooting at 1:19 a.m. in the 400 block of Missouri Avenue, and detectives were still working the scene well after daybreak.

Detectives recovered over 50 cartridge cases at the crime scene.

According to investigators, at least three vehicles were hit in the eruption, but there were no other visible signs of property damage.

One car, a Mercury Grand Marquis, had two bullet holes near the driver's door, while another, a Nissan Altima, suffered a shot to the windshield and had two flat tires. A Chevrolet SUV also had a flat tire after the shooting died down.

No one witnessed the shooting and it is unclear whether the shooters were in a vehicle or on foot.
