In addition, a CCTNS technical support call centre with helpline number (14415) has been set up by the NCRB (National Crime Record Bureau) to assist states and union territories in the smooth implementation of the new laws.

A total of 556,000 FIRs were registered with the BNS in the country from July 1 to September 3, the official said.

He also said that all states and union territories had various apps like e-Sakshya to capture, store and retrieve evidence through video and photographic recording.

Similarly, the Nyay Shruti app, which enables efficient and secure communication between all pillars of the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) ecosystem, has completed its POC in Delhi and Chandigarh.

The official further stated that the e-summons application, which is designed to facilitate electronic delivery of summons and warrants from courts to police stations and subsequently to the persons concerned, can be made available to and used by all states and union territories.
