The Ministry of Defence announced yesterday that an investigation has been launched into the cause of the Zimbabwe Air Force helicopter crash that occurred in Masvingo on Sunday.

In a statement, the ministry said the accident occurred on September 15 at Masvingo airport.

“The helicopter had two pilots and four passengers on board when a problem occurred during the transition phase after takeoff,” the statement said.

“Fortunately, there were no fatalities among the crew, passengers or ground staff.

“The Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe, is conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident.”
