Tragic building collapse in Delhi's Karol Bagh leaves three dead and fourteen injured

In a tragic incident on Wednesday morning, three people lost their lives and 14 others were injured when a building collapsed in Delhi's Karol Bagh area, the Delhi Police said. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received the distress call about the collapse in Bapa Nagar at 9.10 am, DFS Director Atul Garg said.

After receiving the information, five fire tenders of the DFS were immediately dispatched to the accident site. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DCP) Hukma Ram confirmed that 15 people were rescued from the debris. Providing further details, DCP Central M Harsh Vardhan stated that the incident took place around 9 am and an old building measuring around 25 square metres was affected.

Chief Minister-designate Atishi directed the district magistrate to provide all possible assistance to the victims. She also urged the public to report any possible hazards related to construction work to the authorities to prevent such incidents. Further details on the incident are awaited.
