Accident in Worcester Street – delivery man dies in hospital

A gloomy mood lies like a heavy blanket over the delivery community.

Her boyfriend, Jean Pierre Mirundi, died in hospital on Friday, September 13, as a result of the accident when he was knocked off his motorcycle.

Mirundi was returning from a delivery when a car collided with his delivery bike on Worcester Street.

After waiting for an ambulance for more than an hour, Legacy Emergency Medical Services was contacted. They arrived, assessed his injuries and took him to Witbank Hospital.

WITBANK NEWS reported from the scene.

Almost 90 minutes after the accident, the provincial emergency services arrived on the scene and took the driver of the crashed Toyota to the hospital.

Mirundi, who is from Burundi, was a father of two children and his wife is pregnant with their third child.

“Our friend is gone and it is painful to come together every day and know that he is missing from our group. It is very painful,” his friends repeated.

The accident is being investigated.
