Cybercriminals affected by Australian supply chain attack

Australian police have successfully launched a supply chain attack that has resulted in the shutdown of a criminal communications network, the arrest of dozens of suspected criminals and the seizure of illegal weapons and drugs.

About nine years ago, a 32-year-old unnamed cybercriminal developed a mobile app called Ghost. According to the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the app was “a dedicated encrypted communications platform designed exclusively for the criminal underworld.”
