ITV's popular Lorraine Kelly didn't mince her words when she spoke about the controversial addition of Anna Delvey to the cast of the hit US show “Dancing With the Stars”.

On her show, Lorraine chatted with entertainment correspondent Ross King about the show's somewhat dubious list of contestants.

She said: “Well, we've had our problems here with Strictly, but my goodness, Dancing With the Stars, what's going on?!”

When Ross addressed Anna's participation in the show, he made a cheeky reference, noting that he uses the word “star” in a fairly loose sense.

He said: “She's on Dancing With the Stars, complete with, are you ready for this? An ankle charm that's been jewelled for the occasion.”

“She wore it like a cha-cha-cha. And now comes the best part, Lorraine, the one that will really make you angry: She was introduced not as a convicted criminal, but as an entrepreneur and fashionista.”

Lorraine couldn't hide her anger at the 33-year-old's choice of introduction and promised to skip the series altogether, reports the Mirror.

She expressed her thoughts, fuming with anger: “Oh, come on! This is ridiculous, I mean, she's a fraud! She's a fraud and a con artist.”

“This is absolutely outrageous, I'm not happy at all. I'm not watching it. I'm not watching it.”

When Ross found the situation ridiculous, Lorraine nodded vehemently in agreement, expressing her disapproval.

Lorraine fumed: “I just don't understand it. This is all crazy.”

Anna Sorokin, who adopted the pseudonym Anna Delvey, rose to notoriety for defrauding New York celebrities and financial institutions – a story that Netflix dramatized in the series “Inventing Anna.”

The story is based on the true story of a young woman who deceived New York's high society by making them believe she was a German heiress.

In 2019, she was found guilty on eight counts of embezzling an estimated $275,000 from banks, hotels and individuals to maintain her lavish lifestyle.

Anna was sentenced to between four and twelve years in prison, a fine of $24,000 and an obligation to compensate her victims.

However, in 2022, she was released from prison and placed under house arrest, which explains why she is seen dancing with an ankle bracelet.

“Lorraine” continues weekdays from 9am on ITV.
