35-year-old journalist working for a local YouTube channel shot dead in MP: police

Salman Khan (35) was sitting on his scooter with his nine-year-old son on Hospital Road when three people came on a motorcycle and shot at him.

A 35-year-old journalist working for a local YouTube channel was shot dead in Rajgarh district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday evening, police said.

According to police, he was shot dead on Hospital Road in Sarangpur in Rajgarh district.

Akanksha Haada, in-charge of Sarangpur police station, said, “Salman Khan (35) was riding his scooter on Hospital Road with his nine-year-old son. Three people came on a motorcycle and fired at him. When people heard the gunshot, a crowd gathered at the accident site and informed the police.”

The police arrived at the scene of the accident and took him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

This is the second time Salman has been attacked in the past year.

“We have information about the suspected killers and they will be caught soon,” the official said.

The police have registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police are trying to identify the accused with the help of the CCTV footage installed in the market.

According to police, Khan has been working for a local YouTube channel, Dastak News, for the past few years.
