Bessemer police seek suspects after shooting at vigil

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (WBRC) – Bessemer police have released new surveillance images they hope are a step toward finding the person who shot four people during a vigil on Sept. 1.

The suspect was caught on camera leaving the scene on 9th Avenue N.

Metro Crime Stoppers President Bob Copus says they have received good tips on the case, but need more from the public.

Information about the vehicle or driver could help law enforcement seek justice for the victims of the shooting.

The group had gathered for a vigil in memory of the three people who had been killed at the Citgo gas station a few days earlier.

Copus says if you know anything, you have to ask yourself what you would do if a member of your family was injured in the shooting.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Bessemer Police Department or Crime Fighters.
