Taraskiewicz, 27, was last seen on Sept. 13, 1992, when she left work at Logan Airport to pick up lunch for her coworkers. The next morning, her body was found in the trunk of her car, which was parked outside an auto repair shop on Route 1A in Revere.

At that time, according to the state police, the ramp manager was sexually harassed by her male colleagues. Her mother, Marlene Taraskiewicz said her daughter's colleagues resented having a woman in a leadership position.

At the same time, it was discovered that a group of Northwest Airlines employees were involved in a credit card theft ring. A total of 37 people were convicted at the federal level, including Joseph Nuzzo of Peabody, who was described in court as the initiator of the plot.

Nuzzo, who handled baggage in Logan, was sentenced to three years in prison in 1995. A federal appeals court ruling in a similar case led investigators to identify Nuzzo as a possible suspect in Taraskiewicz's murder in 1998.

A month before the murder, several Northwest baggage handlers were subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury investigating the credit card theft. Court documents later revealed that some of the men accused of harassing Taraskiewicz at work feared she might help investigators.

Marlene Taraskiewicz said she was convinced that one of her daughter's colleagues staged the murder because he feared she knew about the credit card fraud.

“In every unsolved case, a single person with accurate information can make all the difference to the survivors, the community and the investigators working the case,” Hayden said.

Marlene Taraskiewicz, 82, has not given up hope of finding the person responsible for her daughter's murder, authorities said.

“Someone knows something,” state police wrote on Facebook. “Susan's mother has a right to know what happened to her daughter.”

Investigators from the State Police, the Suffolk District Attorney's Office and the Revere Police Department have been investigating the murder since it occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County at 617-727-8817 or 855-MA-SOLVE. A $250,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder.
