Live Updates: Israel flights suspended as Hezbollah vows response to pager attack

Israel is suspected of being behind a large-scale attack on Hezbollah members' pagers that took place across Lebanon on Tuesday, leaving at least 4,000 people injured and 11 killed, according to the Lebanese government.

Hezbollah said in a statement on Tuesday that its group's pagers exploded at around 3:30 p.m. local time. An anonymous Hezbollah official told Reuters the incident was the group's “biggest security breach” since the nearly 12-month conflict with Israel following the October 7 Hamas attack, and blamed Israel for the attack.

A series of pager explosions also occurred in Syria. According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 14 people were injured in Damascus and the countryside when the devices exploded.
