When did the Mukuru fire break out?

The police report states that the fire broke out at 8 p.m. on Monday, September 16, and razed the house where the three children were sleeping.

According to a report by KBC, the children who died were aged 16, 14 and 4 and were identified by their mothers.

A gas explosion in one of the houses caused the fire, which spread to the children's sleeping area.

The bodies of the three children were recovered at the crime scene.

After losing everything they owned, residents are now asking the government for help with relocation.

“I am a victim of this incident. I am exactly as you see me. I don't even know where I will sleep. I am begging the government to come and help us,” said a resident.

Emotions ran high as relatives and neighbors tried to cope with the loss of the minor children, aged six, four and two.

According to a neighbor, Julius Kariuki, the fire broke out on one side of the house. Strong winds and a lack of water complicated rescue efforts.

Kariuki mentioned that local residents managed to break into part of the house and rescue a minor child, but he had already died due to the intensity of the fire.

Naivasha East MCA Stanley Karanja called for an investigation into the incident, describing it as a painful loss for the family and the community.

He stressed that nothing, including arson, could be ruled out, noting that the increasing number of fire incidents in the country was worrying.
