Man lucky to escape with his life after shotgun blasts were fired through the back door of a Tyrone home during an urgent appeal for information

A man was unharmed after a shot was fired through the back door of a house in County Tyrone.

The Criminal Investigation Department is appealing for information about the incident that occurred in Coalisland early Tuesday morning.

A PSNI spokesman said: “It was reported that the glass door of a semi-detached house in Canal Quay had been broken.

“It is clear that the damage was caused by a shotgun being fired.

“A man who was in the house at the time was not injured.

“The crime scene is still on site this morning while the police investigation is being carried out.”

Anyone who was on Canal Quay or in the wider area at the time of the shooting and noticed anything suspicious is asked to contact the PSNI.
