Trichy: A 60-year-old woman lost her life and four of her family members were injured when her car rammed into a stationary truck on the road. Chennai-Trichy National Highway vicinity Perambalur city ​​on Tuesday morning. The family, hailing from Sivagnanapuram in Tirunelveli district, was travelling to their hometown from Chennai with G Satheesh Durai, 36, at the wheel. As the car approached the Tangedco office near the Four Roads Bridge in Perambalur at around 4 am, it crashed into the rear of a truck parked on the roadside. The truck, loaded with batteries, was on its way from Chennai to Trichy when it developed a mechanical problem and had to stop on the roadside. The force of the impact was so great that Sellathai succumbed to severe head injuries almost instantly. The four other injured were immediately rushed to Perambalur Government Hospital, where their condition appeared to be stable.
