Man drowns while immersing Ganesha statue – Telangana Today

The deceased, identified as Praveen of Jiblak Palli in Bhoodan Pochampally Mandal, was taking part in the immersion rituals when the accident occurred.

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident during the immersion ceremony of the Ganesh statue, a young man lost his life when he accidentally slipped into a pond in Yadadri Bhongir district on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Praveen of Jiblak Palli in Bhoodan Pochampally mandal, was taking part in the immersion rituals when the accident occurred.

According to eyewitnesses, Praveen slipped while bathing in the pond, which was filled to the brim. Due to the depth of the pond, onlookers could not rescue him immediately. Efforts are currently underway to recover his body. The local authorities have initiated steps to recover the body.
