Will Taylor Swift's endorsement influence the election? Hillary Clinton makes a prediction

Hillary Clinton commented on whether the support of pop sensation Taylor Swift would be enough to shake up the election.

Swift endorsed Vice President Harris for the White House last week immediately after the presidential debate on ABC News. Since then, former President Trump has unleashed attacks against the 14-time Grammy Award winner.

Clinton said on the podcast “On with Kara Swisher” that Swift's support was “important,” noting that the pop star had an “unusual influence” on the campaign.

“I think her fan base is so intense and incredibly influenced by her. She's a singer who is dictating the course of her life, and people are relating to her own life. But she's also someone who stood up to a guy who groped her. She fought back to get her music back from someone she thought had wrongfully taken it away from her,” Clinton said.

“She has shown resilience, not just in her love life, which she has told us all about, but in taking control of her own life. I think that is a powerful message to the people who follow her,” Clinton continued.

Swift's endorsement prompted thousands of people to visit the voter registration link on her social media page within hours, The New York Times reported. Since then, Harris' campaign has touted the coveted endorsement and used Swift's songs at rallies and on social media.

The Harris campaign also sent out an email with the subject line “Trump's Bad Week (Taylor's Version).” The former president lashed out at the singer over the weekend, posting on Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.”

Clinton also praised Swift in Monday's podcast episode.

“I really admire her as a person and I think that support, as you rightly said, has already led to voter registrations. She mentioned voter registration again when she won another award, so I think that's having a real impact,” she said.

She also criticized tech billionaire Elon Musk for his tweet of support, saying it was “really bad.”

Musk tweeted: “Fine Taylor… you win… I will give you a child and protect your cats with my life.”

He appeared to be referring to Swift's post of support, which she signed “Childless Cat Lady,” a dig at Senator JD Vance's comments about childless women.
