Bus overturns in Iran, 10 dead and 41 injured in tragic accident

At least ten people are reported to have died and 41 others injured in a bus accident in Iran.

The incident occurred when a passenger bus overturned on the route from Bushehr to Mashhad, allegedly due to excessive speed.

The bus, which was on its way to Mashhad, reportedly lost control and overturned.

Rescue workers quickly arrived on the scene and took over 50 passengers to a nearby hospital.

Unfortunately, ten people were found dead upon arrival, with six being pronounced dead at the scene and four succumbing to their injuries in hospital.

Of the injured, 41 had to be hospitalized, nine of them were in critical condition and required intensive care. More than 15 others were treated and discharged for less serious injuries.

The identity of the victims has not yet been fully established. It is still unclear whether they were local residents or pilgrims. Eyewitnesses suspect that the excessive speed of the bus could have been one of the main causes of the accident.

This tragic event follows a series of serious bus accidents in Iran in recent weeks, including two incidents last month that killed over 30 Pakistani pilgrims and injured over 50 others.

Such accidents underscore ongoing concerns about road safety in Iran, particularly given the large number of pilgrims travelling to holy sites, including the shrines of Imam Hussein and other prominent Ahl al-Bayt figures.

Iran's roads are often congested and lack adequate safety measures, which remains a major problem. The frequency of these tragic accidents underscores the urgent need for improved traffic management and safety protocols to prevent further deaths.

Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident and will provide further details as the situation develops.
