Pakistani intruder shot dead by BSF at international border in Punjab

Amritsar: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) troops at the India-Pakistan international border in Punjab, a force spokesman said on Tuesday.

The official said the man was spotted as he “secretly” crossed the international border in Ratankhurd village area of ​​Amritsar district and approached the border fence at around 9.15 pm on Monday.

The intruder did not stop his advance on the fence even after the troops resisted and showed aggressive gestures, the spokesman said.

“The troops on duty fired at the advancing intruder and neutralized him on the spot,” he added.

According to BSF, Pakistani currency worth 270 rupees and a half-torn 10-rupee note were found on him.

The body was handed over to the local Gharinda police station, police said.

The BSF guards 553 kilometers of the international front with Pakistan in Punjab.
