Cam Rising injury update: Utah WR Dorian Singer announces QB status against Oklahoma State

Utah quarterback Cam rises will compete well on Saturday against State of Oklahomaaccording to Utes receiver Dorian Singer. Local Reporter Josh Furlong posted on X that Singer told the media on Monday that Rising will be available after missing the last week with a hand injury.

Rising sustained the injury in a Week 2 game against Baylor after running into a water cooler, and his return will be a huge help for Utah ahead of its top-15 matchup with the Cowboys.

Getting up in full gear and warmed up for last week’s game against State of Utahso he probably could have played if he had to. The extra week of recovery will likely ensure that the QB is back in top form on Saturday.

The Utes began Isaac Wilson in place of Rising when they won 38-21 in Week 3. He threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns with one interception and will return to the backup role against OSU.

Rising, playing his sixth season of college football after missing all of last year with an ACL injury, led Utah to back-to-back Pac-12 championships in 2021 and 2022, totaling 5,527 yards, 46 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

The QB was back to his old self in Week 1, when he threw five touchdowns and led the Utes to a 49-0 win over Southern UtahHe is a big reason Utah was tipped to win the Big 12 this season, its first as a member of the conference.

The key will be getting past Oklahoma State, as the Cowboys finished second in the conference in 2023. This will be only the second ever meeting between the two teams and the first since 1945.

With Cam Rising now healthy again, it should be a close game. Kickoff is Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET in Stillwater.
