The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon Season 3: Daryl and Carol’s big European tour – what you need to know about the Spain season

After the end of “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” TWD fans are eagerly awaiting season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” which will start in September 2024. In the new episodes of the French spin-off, Carol Peletier will finally return to Daryl Dixon's side. But that was probably not the end of her story.

It was already confirmed at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 in July that there will be a third season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, also featuring Carol. This time, however, not in France, but in Spain!

There is no start date yet, but production in Spain has already started in September 2024. We expect the third season of “Daryl Dixon” to start in fall 2025 on AMC, AMC+ and also on MagentaTV.

The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon Season 3: Plot

The official season description for season 3 simply states that Daryl and Carol continue their journey to find a way home to their loved ones. “While she is sure she will find her way back, the path leads them further and further astray, through distant lands with constantly changing and unfamiliar conditions, as they experience the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”

After the second season of “Daryl Dixon” we will certainly know a little more about the plot of season 3. It will start on September 29, 2024 on AMC and AMC+ and on September 30 on MagentaTV.

The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon Season 3: Cast

In addition to Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, we will of course also see Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier. In addition, numerous Spanish actors and actresses have been confirmed for the new episodes. Eduardo Noriega (“The Devil's Backbone”, “Vantage Point”, Óscar Jaenada (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”), Alexandra Masangkay (“Días mejores”, “Valley of Shadows”) are in the regular cast, while Candela Saitta (“Máxima”, “Último primer día”) and Hugo Arbués (“Through My Window” trilogy) are also in the cast.

TWD fans will probably have to do without the reunion of Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes for now. Rick and Michonne were able to return to Alexandria at the end of “The Ones Who Live”. What exactly Daryl and Carol are doing in Spain is also not yet clear.

However, some fans are hoping that Daryl will meet Rick's little brother Jeffrey Grimes in Spain. Yes, that's right, brother! Jeff Grimes has only appeared in one TWD spin-off comic, “The Walking Dead: The Alien,” and features Jeff stranded in Barcelona when the zombie apocalypse breaks out.

It is also possible that for “Daryl Dixon” Season 3, some of Jeff's storylines will simply be taken over and transferred to Daryl's character. So at least there would be no need to introduce a Grimes brother, who has not yet been mentioned by Rick at all.

The only problem for Daryl is that he then has to travel through the whole of France again before he gets to Spain. Perhaps his new friends can donate two motorbikes to Daryl and Carol to make the long journey easier for them.

The Walking Dead – Daryl Dixon Season 3: Production

As early as April 2024, Daryl actor Norman Reedus is said to have told a fan at an AMC event that he would return to Europe in June 2024 to film “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” Season 3And that was not the only news, because even then he is said to have revealed that the filming would not take place in France, but in Spain.

It has now been confirmed that filming will take place in Madrid and the regions around Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia. Filming is set to begin in September 2024.
