After an attack, a man's body was discovered in the Athi River

On September 14, 2024, the body of a man was found floating in the Athi River in Machakos County.

The body was identified as that of 23-year-old Amos Walale.

According to police, the deceased was missing after an attack on a local resident on the night of September 13.

It is suspected that he drowned while trying to avoid public arrest after the attack by fleeing towards the river.

The body was taken to the Shalom morgue pending an autopsy, police said.

Elsewhere in the Korogocho slums, the lifeless body of a certain Fredrick Onyango was found in one of the houses.

Police officers from Korogocho attended the scene and found that the deceased had fallen asleep without complaining and had not woken up. This aroused the suspicion of the neighbours who peeked into his house and found him lying lifeless on the mattress.

According to police, the body showed no visible injuries and was taken to the city morgue for an autopsy.
