Because there was not enough evidence to pursue the case, Lycoming Regional police dropped charges of criminal damage, disturbing the peace and harassment against Tristen Parsons, 26, of 697 Railroad St., Jersey Shore, according to court documents filed in District Judge Denise Dieter's office. The charges related to an alleged disturbance outside Parsons' residence on March 25, police said.

In another criminal case, Daniel Maurer, 40, of 2461 Lycoming Creek Road, pleaded guilty before District Judge Christian Frey to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from an incident in the 1600 block of Scott Street on Feb. 9, according to court records from the county's drug enforcement unit. He made arrangements to pay $835 in fines and court costs.

In another case, Rafael Molina Jr., 46, of 13 Chevy Lane, Montgomery, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor in a plea agreement before District Judge William Solomon after Lycoming Regional Police agreed to drop a charge of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). The charge stems from an incident in the 1600 block of Dewey Avenue in Old Lycoming Township on May 29. Molina made arrangements to pay a $200 fine and received credit for time served in the county jail.

In another case, James Nicholas Carr, 22, of 61 Tyler Lane, Cogan Station, faces further court proceedings after waiving a preliminary hearing on several charges filed by South Williamsport police, including aggravated and simple assault, attempted aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited assault weapon and similar offenses stemming from a disturbance at a Valley Street bar in DuBoistown on Aug. 23. However, during proceedings before Solomon, police dropped a charge of assault on a police officer. Carr remains incarcerated in the Lycoming County Jail despite failure to post $75,000 bail.
