Former minister sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing two young children

MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) – A judge today sentenced a former Mobile County pastor to a total of 20 years in prison for sexually abusing two young children.

Kenneth Turberville was scheduled to go on trial today for sodomy, but instead pleaded guilty on Friday to two counts of attempted sexual abuse of a minor.

Prosecutors say one victim was a relative and another was someone he knew. They say the abuse went on for five years.

Judge Vicki Davis sentenced Turberville to ten years in prison for each count and ordered that he serve each sentence consecutively.

Tuberville was pastor of Clear Water Church in west Mobile.
