“We are looking for information from other clients who may have experienced something similar,” police said in a statement.

A 56-year-old Neeham man who practiced acupuncture without a license faces charges of indecent assault and battery.

Qunhao Zhang was arrested at his home Friday night and charged with two counts of sexual assault and battery on a person over 14 years of age, Needham police said in a statement.

The department said it received the report of the alleged incident at about 12:25 p.m. Friday at Boston Acupuncture Center (Chinese and Herbal Medicine) at 1410 Highland Ave. in Needham. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued for Zhang's arrest.

Needham police said investigators determined Zhang had his acupuncture license revoked by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine in the fall of 2022.

“We are seeking information from other clients who may have experienced something similar,” police said. “Please contact the Needham Police Department at 781-455-7570 if you have any information or concerns about this.”

According to WCVB, Zhang was charged with two counts of sexual assault and assault in Boston in November 2018. In addition, the station noted in 2019 that two complaints had been filed against Zhang with the medical board since he became licensed as an acupuncturist in the state in 2000.

Information on Zhang's lawyer was not immediately available. According to court records, Zhang did not appear for his arraignment on Monday.
