Phoenix police ask public for help in fatal stabbing

PHOENIX – Phoenix police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing in August.

The department's investigation revealed that 34-year-old Edwin Lopez should be questioned.

Phoenix police are asking anyone with information about Lopez to call the police department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) in Spanish to remain anonymous.

What happened in the fatal knife attack?

On August 29 at around 10:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Third Avenue and Hadley Street.

At the scene, police found 35-year-old Cisco Dennis with at least one stab wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the stabbing, the department asked the public for help in finding information about the incident.
