On Aug. 29, officers responded to a call at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Hadley Street where Dennis had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries, police said. Police said Monday that Dennis and Lopez were “involved in a physical altercation” that resulted in Dennis' injuries and death.

Sergeant Robert Scherer said officers identified Lopez after working “around the clock” on the investigation.
