A man sexually abused three children within 3 months, says the Sumter sheriff

Three children fell victim to the sexual advances of a man, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office announced. He is now behind bars.

Bradley Alexander Thompson, 20, was charged with three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor after the children complained to their parents about the assaults last month, a press release said.

When officials from the Sumter County Sheriff's Office began investigating the allegations, the children underwent medical examinations.

After further investigation and forensic interviews, it was determined that Thompson sexually abused the children between May and August 2024, the press release said. Bradley also admitted to committing the sexual acts.

Thompson was denied bail by Sumter County Magistrate Larry Blanding after being taken to the Sumter County Sheriff's Detention Center.
