North Olmsted police arrested Ellis, 33, of Cleveland, minutes after the attack as he walked on Dover Center Road carrying the knife allegedly used in the attack.

According to Det. Sgt. Matthew Beck of the North Olmsted Police Department and Cuyahoga County District Attorney Michael O'Malley, Ellis stole two knives from the Volunteers of America thrift store next to Giant Eagle.

She then allegedly entered the Giant Eagle, saw the victims exit, followed them and immediately stabbed Julian, who was sitting in the shopping cart.

North Olmsted police said the attack appears to have been random.
