3 youths arrested for stabbing Kairuni man to death during heritage celebrations

Three teenagers are currently in police custody for stabbing 24-year-old Harry Browne to death in the early hours of Sunday morning during Kairuni heritage celebrations.

A 23-year-old woman from Kairuni village said that she and the victim went to the celebrations at a ball field in the community on Saturday night, where they consumed several bottles of alcoholic beverages.

However, a fight later broke out and Browne was attempting to make peace when a 15-year-old suspect, who was accompanied by others, attacked Brown with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries to his abdomen and right hand.

Two other people were stabbed and injured in the fight, both sustaining stab wounds to the abdomen and were later admitted to the GPHC as patients. The suspects fled the scene.

In the meantime, based on information, the police searched a house in the village of Moblissa and arrested the main suspect and two other young people (aged 17 and 19). The investigation is ongoing.
