Cumberland man arrested on East Roberts Street for alleged assault

CUMBERLAND, Maryland – A man was arrested Sunday following an alleged assault at a residence on East Roberts Street, according to Cumberland police.

Officers responded to the 100 block of E. Roberts Street at approximately 4:55 p.m. on a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they spoke with the alleged victim, who stated that 44-year-old Dexter Smith had assaulted her. Police observed injuries on the victim consistent with her statement.

Smith was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He was transported to the Central Detention Center and later appeared before a District Court Commissioner.

Smith was released on parole after the hearing.

    BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 12-year-old Tori Rockmore, who was reported missing.

    Rockmore, a black man, is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair, and a noticeable scar on the right side of his face. He was last seen in the 200 block of Hempstead Avenue wearing a tan Mickey Mouse hoodie, black pants, and blue Crocs.

    Authorities are urging anyone with information on Rockmore's whereabouts to call 911 immediately.

  • Three people arrested after attack in Cumberland

    CUMBERLAND, Maryland – Cumberland police say three people were arrested Sunday afternoon following an alleged attack at a Bedford Street residence.

    Officers responded to the 600 block of Bedford Street at approximately 4:17 p.m. after receiving reports of a robbery in progress. The individuals involved were identified as Nikita Waller, 37, Kaitlin Bruckner, 38, and Chaunce Teele, 35. Authorities reported that the perpetrators were disturbing the peace of nearby residents.

    Waller, Bruckner and Teele were charged with second-degree assault, disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and affray. The three were transported to the central holding facility and later appeared before a District Court Commissioner for a bail hearing.

    Each of the defendants posted an unsecured personal bond of $1,000 and was released after the hearing.
