Porsche driver caused serious accident – suspected car racing

A woman was seriously injured in an accident on the A100. A Porsche caused the accident – possibly during an illegal race.

A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a traffic accident. Investigators believe that she may have been the victim of a car race on the A100 in Berlin shortly before midnight. Witnesses should be informed of this.

According to a police spokesman, the following serious accident occurred on the city's motorway late on Sunday evening, September 15th. At around 11 p.m., the driver was travelling on the section in question towards the Funkturm motorway junction. At the same time, a young man was apparently driving there in his Porsche. Investigators report that he sped along the stretch.

A short time later, the dangerous collision occurred. The 18-year-old lost control of his car on the rain-soaked road. This happened shortly after the Innsbrucker Platz tunnel. His car then collided with the Renault of the 51-year-old driver. A companion (24) was also sitting in her vehicle.

She and the suspected cause of the accident, who was driving alone, escaped without any injuries. The woman at the wheel, however, was badly affected by the accident. They are said to have suffered injuries to their upper bodies, among other things, and had to go to the hospital. The woman stayed there so that doctors could take care of her. The officials did not provide any information about the exact nature of her injuries.

Meanwhile, suspicions are being confirmed that the Porsche driver was involved in a street race with another, as yet unknown driver. According to witnesses, there was another car. This one was also travelling too fast at the same time – and in the same direction. Further investigation results are still pending. This also includes how exactly the crash with the Renault occurred.
