Fayetteville man charged with sexual assault at Skibo Road hotel

Last week, a man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a Fayetteville hotel room in August.

Sayfried Sinclair Jr., 45, of Fayetteville, is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sexual abuse and second-degree kidnapping.

According to an arrest warrant, the rape occurred on August 2 at the Days Inn & Suites on Skibo Road.

According to the filing, the assault occurred in Room 260, which Sinclair had rented for the woman. The victim told police that after the assault, she locked herself in the bathroom and Sinclair left the room, according to the filing.

He was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 9 in the 100 block of Rowan Street, according to the arrest report. His bail was set at $200,000, jail records show.
