A refugee has reportedly been arrested in Spain on suspicion of sexually harassing two aid workers.

The man lived in a refugee center in the town of Becerrea in Lugo, reports Olive Press News.

He is repeatedly accused of making inappropriate sexual comments, sexual harassment and physical groping of the two laborers.

The two women, who work for a humanitarian aid organization responsible for managing the refugee center, reported the incidents.

The arrest took place on Friday after the accused filed a complaint, as sources quoted by Europa Press confirmed.

On Saturday morning, the suspect was brought to the court in Becerrea for a hearing.

According to local reports, the non-governmental organization that runs the center plans to transfer the refugee to another facility in response to the incident.

In 2024, the number of boat arrivals has continued to increase. The figures show an average of 45 people per day.
