Alliance police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday and have arrested a 24-year-old woman.

According to Alliance Police Chief David Leavitt, officers arrested 24-year-old Valerie Cerny on suspicion of attempted premeditated murder, a felony. Police responded to a home at 2652 Marvin Circle around 10 p.m. for a reported assault. Arriving officers found George Colton King suffering from multiple stab wounds to his arms and neck.

King reportedly told police that he had an argument with the mother of his child, identified as Cerny. Cerny admitted that the two had a heated argument.

Cerny is currently being held in the Box Butte County Jail awaiting a hearing on the charges.

Leavitt said King was treated at Box Butte General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
