Zelensky calls on the West to comply with the demand for attacks inside Russia

In his speech, Zelensky said Russia also attacked the Sumy and Donetsk regions with guided bombs on Sunday.

He said the Russian army was carrying out “at least 100 such air strikes” every day.

To prevent such attacks, Ukraine is asking its Western allies for permission to attack military targets deep inside Russia. However, fearing an escalation, they continue to hesitate.

Also on Sunday, one person was killed by Russian artillery fire in the eastern Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, local authorities said, as Moscow's troops slowly approached the key logistics hub.

More than 20,000 people – almost half the population – have fled the city since August. As a result of Russian attacks over the past two weeks, many of the remaining residents have been cut off from water and electricity.

“At about 11:00 (08:00 GMT) the enemy shelled the western part of the city… Unfortunately, one person died,” the Pokrovsk military administration said on Telegram.
