Shots fired near Donald Trump as ex-president leaves golf course | USA | News

Donald Trump was close to gunfire while playing golf near his home in Florida.

The Trump campaign made these claims on September 15.

“President Trump is safe following the shooting near him. No further details are available at this time,” said his campaign spokesman Steven Cheung.

According to the US newspaper “New York Post”, two people fired shots outside the golf course in Florida, but their target was “not Trump”.

The former president was reportedly playing golf at his West Palm Beach golf course, which is close to his Mar-a-Lago residence, when the shooting broke out.

It happened two months after an assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate.

Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks hit the 45th president with a shot he fired during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
