Death of Matthew Perry and “Hollywood's drug problem” | FREE stream of the TMZ special

TMZ Investigates: Matthew Perry & The Secret Celebrity Drug Ring airs Monday, September 16 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on FOX. The death of Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, in 2023 has shocked his fans.

If you want to watch the special but no longer have cable, you can watch it for free through free trials of FuboTV or DirecTV Stream. You can also try Sling, which gives you half off your first month of streaming.

From unethical doctors, enablers and a rehab center, the TMZ investigative team uncovers the celebrity drug ring that contributed to Perry's tragic death, according to FOX. The special examines what led to his death and “the harsh truth behind Hollywood's drug problem,” FOX adds in a short video trailer above.

Kelly Osbourne and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from the Jersey Shore franchise talk to TMZ about their own struggles with addiction.

Perry, 54, died on October 28, 2023. Paramedics called to the scene by one of Perry's assistants immediately pronounced him dead.

An autopsy found the amount of ketamine in his blood was consistent with the amount doctors use for general anesthesia during surgery, The Associated Press reported. Ketamine was determined to be the primary cause of death, an accident in which no foul play was suspected. Drowning and other medical problems were contributing factors.

The five people later charged in the death of the “Friends” star include Perry’s live-in assistant and two doctors.
