Police investigate shooting of man in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY – Police in Morgan County are investigating a shooting that left a man dead early Sunday morning.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, officers were dispatched to the area of ​​SR 142 and SR 39 around 12:30 a.m. for a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that there was a disturbance and gunshots at a residence in the 1100 block of Robb Hill Road.

The victim was in a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident and stopped in the area of ​​SR 142 and SR 39, where he succumbed to his injuries.

However, no arrests have been made so far. The police stated that this was an isolated incident and that there was no danger to the public.
